⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
FABULOUS first half – steamy and engaging!
Wright Kind of Trouble is a fantastic first half to a duet. Usually I get frustrated with duets – they can feel drawn out and I often feel like it easily could have worked as one standalone instead of two separate books. NOT HERE at all. I can’t see any other way this story could have been written without rushing through something or not giving us all the details. This also hooked me right from the start and I really couldn’t put it down until I hit the end.
Harley is only a freshman in college when she meets Chase at her brothers wedding. Chase is ten years older than her, but when they hook up at the wedding he know she is younger, but assumes she is older than she really is and realizes that it wouldn’t be fair to her to be in a relationship when she is really that young. Complicating matters is the fact that his family is an enemy of hers because of things his father has done in the past. I loved how this book starts from the time they meet and covers all their interactions along the way. Most of our time with either of them on page is when they are physically together, which is something I love.
I really love the author’s choices in telling the first half of their story. This could have started later with only references to their first meetings or in past tense scenes, but I so much prefer the choices made here. It ends on a doozy of a cliffhanger with everything she fears most about her brothers learning about how she feels about Chase, and I’m going to be desperately awaiting the rest of the story!
